tomorrow is the day!

Tomorrow is the day! Eager anticipation all around. Tonight we had the rehearsal and dinner at Falcon Park with Bennett's barbecue catering. Amazing food, wonderful family, and God held back the thunderstorm until we were done!

Can't wait to see off Mr. & Mrs. Rob W!!!

reservations and info

We have our first Drury Inn reservation - Harlan, Laura, Peter and Kelly. They are on the 5th floor, if you want to try and get near them... Although the motel is near the I-25, you do not hear the freeway noise.

I would recommend you reserve your rooms asap. Would you mind letting me know after you have reserved what kind of room you have?

I have not yet asked, but I think there are enough tables and room to do our Shanghai tournament in the eating area of the motel. I would suggest Thursday evening and Friday morning. WE would like to have a picnic on Sunday. Can we all come to our church on Sunday Aug 10? I would love for us to be able to sit together. We really love our church and would like to introduce you and also hear our Pastor Mike. After church we can have a picnic but are up for other ideas.

We really hope that as many as possible can come. There are fun things to do here. If you want to come early or stay late and have a great vacation, I recommend the YMCA of the Rockies at Estes Park - great place, and cabins (reserve early).

In town, we have a neat place we have yet to visit called "Pirate's Cove" that is a swim park for kids of all ages - reasonably priced.

There is hiking, etc and of course the Rocky Mountains!

The rehearsal picnic/dinner on Friday evening is in a GREAT place - covered tables (catered bbq) and a playground right by the tables - we can reserve a volleyball court if there is enough interest - let me know. Rob and Rachel thought that this would be a fun way to celebrate - especially with all the kids - so that will be casual.

Lodging for the wedding: The Drury Inn "Drury Inn-Tech Center" at 9445 E Dry Creek Rd, Englewood, CO 80112 www.druryhotels.com or 303-694-3400. Mom said WorldVenture can get a rate for around $79 per night which includes breakfast.

Also, we'll be able to use facility rooms at the WorldVenture headquarters for our Shanghai Tradition! Lots of space, a mini-kitchen and nearby toys for tots.

Plans, part 1 of many to come!

So my baby brother is getting married! Pretty cool, huh? And his bride-elect is his perfect match! Thanks be to God for his perfect gifts.
I've talked Rob into getting this blog up and running, and at some point in the future (maybe after they're Mr. & Mrs. Wedin) I'll sign off as a poster, but for now, I'm the neutral (but not unbiased!) 3rd party poster to help everyone get their info on here. Feel free to post your plans in the comment section (if you have any yet!).

I'll start with the Suydams. All six of us are arriving on Wednesday August 6 @ 5 pm. Jason is flying home on Tues evening, while the kids and I will stay until the 19th. (nearly 2 weeks)
We're working on a place for the traditional Shanghai Tournament, so I'll keep you posted! And hopefully we can list possibilities for hotel choices here as well.
